WIP FAQ

All You Need To Know About WIP

EMERGENCIES OUTSIDE OF OFFICE HOURS

In case of a life threatening emergency, please call 911.

Every patient will have access to either Dr. Sabine, Dr. Banta and Dr. Alyssa 24/7. Please call the main practice line and our answering service will send a page to the on call provider to request a call back. Please note this a free service. We do our best to answer pages within 30-40 minutes.

QUESTIONS AFTER HOURS

Non-urgent questions can be emailed directly to your provider or to the main nurses email at nurses@wipediatrics.com.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SICK CHILD VISIT?

We reserve time every day for same-day sick appointments. If your child is sick, please either call the office when our phone lines open at 9 AM, or e-mail our nurses at nurses@wipediatrics.com. We will find a way to get your child in!

HOSPITAL PARTNERSHIPS

Our providers do not have admitting privileges at any local hospital. However, we work very closely with Suburban Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Georgetown Medstar Hospital and Children’s National Medical Center.

What Happens If My Provider is On Vacation?

As a small office we ensure that we are able to cover each others patients. While we cannot guarantee you will be seen by your primary provider, we can promise that each provider is able to care for your child.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?

We ask that all cancellations be made with more than 24 hour notice. Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged a $75 no show fee.

If you have missed more than 3 consecutive scheduled visits, we will charge the full visit fee.

What is Washington International Pediatric’s Philosophy on Vaccines?

Immunizations are a core part of pediatric primary care. At WIP we believe that every child needs to receive all CDC recommended vaccinations. These vaccines keep children healthy, which is our number one priority. We are happy to discuss an alternative vaccination schedule on a case by case basis. If you have any further questions, please call our office directly.
